May 20, 2024

Hickam Air Force Base, HI—Learning Color Guard is a daunting task for many, but for the cadets at a Color Guard Seminar hosted by the United States Air Force’s 15th Wing Honor Guard, it was a fun and engaging experience that ended with a masterfully performed ceremony.

The Color Guard Seminar was hosted on Saturday, May 11th, with Cadets coming from the outer islands. Cadet’s learned Color Guard presentation and how to properly use a drill rifle.  In the final test to see what they learned, cadets demonstrated their improvement and prowess. The Final Performance consisted of a full Color Guard performance including 2 Flag Bearers and 2 Rifle Guards.

Due to the hands-on seminar, all cadets left the event with a better knowledge of Color Guard and Drill with hopes they will take this learning experience back to their squadron and show others how to improve. This team building skill is what helps all Cadets progress in the Civil Air Patrol. A huge thank you goes out to the 15th Wing Honor Guard for this amazing opportunity for Cadets.
