77 years Continuing to serve Hawai’i

Honolulu, Hawai'i - Continuing a legacy of over 77 years of volunteering to serve American communities, save lives, and shape futures, the Hawaii Wing comes together once again to connect, collaborate, and celebrate at its annual conference and awards banquet.

Maryknoll Schools will host the event on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event aims to expand the knowledge of Hawaii Civil Air Patrol members and guests from abroad through education and training programs related to Emergency Services, Cadet Programs, Marketing and Communications, Professional Development, and Chaplin Corps. Throughout the event, members will receive awards for their volunteer contributions to events and activities, such as serving during the 2023 Maui Wildfires, being named as the Hawaii Wing or Pacific Region of the Year winner, and earning cadet solo wings during the first annual Hawaii Wing National Distributed Flight Academy.

At a value of $3.1 million hours, Civil Air Patrol members tirelessly volunteered time supporting many local activities, educational outreach, and being readily available during emergency situations. Donations for air travel, nutritional rations, and grants helped off-set expenses during the many events and activities with generous contributions from Southwest Airlines, Island Energy, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, Aloha Air Cargo, Stoneworks, Hawaii Cement, Vita Coco, Punaluu Bake Shop, and KTA.

About Civil Air Patrol
Established in 1941, Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and as such is a member of its Total Force. In its auxiliary role, CAP operates a fleet of 560 single-engine aircraft, 1000 vehicles, 2,000 small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), and a nationwide network of more than 10,000 radios performing about 90% of all search and rescue operations within the contiguous United States as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center.
